Requirements to rent a car in Cuba

Be of age.
Driver's license valid for tenant and each additional driver.
Passport.
Valid or effective credit card for payment.
In case of paying in cash in local currency CUC.
Credit cards (Visa, Master Card, Eurocard and JCB).

How to rent a car in Cuba?

Gas

Cars are delivered with a full tank and its value will be charged at the official price established at the beginning of the rental. Charges vary by car model and type of fuel. It is not mandatory to return the car with fuel. The customer is solely responsible for filling the car with the type of fuel established.

Rental price

The rate for these car rental services decreases proportionally according to the duration of the rental and depending on the category of the car. If you wish to be picked up at the airport upon arrival in Cuba, you should know that this service charges a collection tax at the airport.

Aditional driver

All co-drivers must be written in the contract with a valid driver's license, passport number when the car is removed. Otherwise, the insurance, CDW will not cover any damage done by the driver, each additional co-driver will be charged 10 CUC in the contract and only 2 co-drivers per contract are accepted.

Insurance

You as a customer should know that the security deposit you make when renting a car in Cuba will be returned at the end of your rental, as long as you return the car in the same conditions in which you rented it. In the event of an accident, you have the obligation to complete a police report proving the use of your insurance coverage. The company offers Super CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) insurance to eliminate risks in case of an accident. Super CDW rates depend on the category of the car.
Super CDW; This coverage totally exempts the customer if the car is damaged, unless there is a violation of the rental terms. This coverage is not valid for a driver not registered in the rental agreement. Super CDW does not cover loss or damage to accessories (brushes, antennas, mirrors, etc.). These charges will be paid directly by the customer.

Driver's license

The lessee must present a valid driver's license and the license must be valid at the time of rental and remain valid throughout the rental period. If the driver's license of your original country is not written in Spanish or English, an international driver's license must be shown.
